Well we FINALLY made it to my parents house last weekend :). We were suppose to go at Easter time but we were all sick. Thankfully we were able to just "reschedule" our trip and we headed out last Friday in the morning.

The trip went good for the most part. We took backroads down there so we could stop in smaller towns and let Davis play in the parks. Davis did pretty good on the way down. He took a few naps, watched a few movies, played in a park and played with his toys. We got to Mom and Dad's around 6:30ish. Mom had tator tot hotdish waiting for us and we...Davis included gobbled it right up. Davis doesn't even eat my tator tot hotdish that good...Grandma Julie has a special touch :)!

On Saturday we went to the town of Independence to this heritage museum. It was really neat to look around in there. Lots of fun things to look at. Davis was loving every second of it. And he's such a people watcher too...ha! We took some pictures of this HUGE tractor that was there called "Big Bud". Davis still talks about that tractor and it's almost been a week! After we got home from Independence we headed out to Red Lobster. This is a traditional we do every time we go down there...and a tasty one at that!

On Sunday we got to go to church. Davis so Grandpa Randy up preaching in the front and kept yelling out "PaPa". It was cute. Grandma Julie took Davis out around sermon time as Davis was getting really sick of sitting. She ran him around outside :)! He got to meet some of the church members after church during coffee time. Davis looked like he fit right in there and like he's been part of the church forever..ha. He just loves people and people just love him :)! On Sunday afternoon Davis took a much needed nap and Jeff and I headed out to run some errands. Grandma and Grandpa watched Davis. Jeff and I hit a lot of different stores and had a great time. We were even nice enough to pick up dessert on the way home to enjoy with supper (Strawberry shortcake). Jeff and I got back around supper time and enjoyed a lovely meal with everyone :).

On Monday it was time to leave. We sure had a blast and it was hard to leave but also good to be home. Davis did pretty well on the ride home. He had a meltdown about 40 miles from home so the last part of the trip was kinda hard. When we got home, he was super happy to just RUN, RUN, RUN!! I hardly even got any supper in the kid because he didn't want to sit anymore :)! He got back on his regular schedule pretty quickly after we got home..which we were super thankful for!

Unfortunately Davis had to go to the doctor yesterday. The poor little guy has a double ear infection and is on antibiotics yet again...3rd round in 3 months. I am sick too but I think mine is a combo of a cold and allergies. So hopefully we'll all get healthy again real quick. Even though we've been sick we sure have enjoyed some wonderful time outdoors. We spend a lot of time outside in the afternoons and after supper. We have even managed to push Davis' bedtime routine back a little while so he can run after supper. He sure sleeps good on nights where he has run a lot :)! LOVE the Spring!

No big plans for the weekend. Sit around and relax. Looks like we'll be inside a lot due to the weather. Oh well :)! Gotta make the best of it I guess.
