Jeff's New Toy

On Saturday Jeff got himself another "new" toy! Actually this story starts on Friday, October 13th when we were starting our vacation. We took back roads down to Yankton, SD and we happened to drive by Salem Tractor Salvage. Lo and Behold there was a Minneapolis Moline G1000 tractor sitting right there! I'm really surprised Jeff didn't pull the car over at that very moment and go take a look. He talked about how neat it would be to have that tractor, etc. He's wanted one of those FOREVER so when he saw it it got him thinking. Well it was pretty much forgotten on our vacation but on the way home on the 18th of October, Joe (our buddy from the Hutterite Colony) called Jeff when we were by Mitchell.

Joe hasn't called Jeff for near 9 months now, so we were kinda shocked when Jeff received a call from him. Joe was telling Jeff about this G1000 that Salem Tractor Salvage had. Jeff had told him that he saw it the previous Friday when we drove by. Well to make a long story short, Joe is buddies with one of the guys who works there and talked the guy down to a very very nice price. So Jeff talked to our banker and we are now the proud owner of a Minneapolis Moline G1000 tractor. It needs engine work but Jeff's up for the challenge. He's already got it ripped apart in the shop and has figured out the parts he needs to make it run. Like I said he's wanted one of these tractors FOREVER so now he has one. This is our 3rd Minneapolis Moline (I know it's a shock that it's not RED like the rest of the families tractors :)!!!!) Jeff likes his Minnies!

So that's the big news around here. Feels like winter is here! The wind is nasty and it's only 18 degrees right now. Sounds like it's suppose to be colder all week but maybe up in the 50's by the weekend and next week which will be nice! We are not ready for winter yet! Or at least I'm not anyway!
