It's a Rainy Friday!

It's raining today and it sounds like it's suppose to rain most of the weekend. We'll take the rain though...it was dry for so long and we need it. Hopefully the Labor Day weekend won't be a total wash out :)!

Jeff and I are leaving for Mom and Dad's house at around 1 today. We are looking forward to heading down there for the long weekend. We took Jake down to Inwood last night and he just gets so excited when he sees us loading up the truck with his things. It's funny that he knows when the truck has his pet carrier in it and all his food and toys that he's going to Inwood. He loves it down there. Sometimes I think he would like to just stay down there and hang out then come home with us! It sure makes it easier to leave him knowing he's happy. He doesn't even watch us leave anymore...he just lays there prentending we don't exsist as we drive off. We are very thankful that Lee and Judy don't mind watching him! Jake's surgery is being rescheduled for October now after we get back from Colorado. He was suppose to have it this coming Tuesday but we have to put it off and save some money for it. We don't think it hurts him because he never whines or crys...now that he's lost weight he doesn't limp as bad either...so maybe before he has his surgery in October he can lose a few more pounds. The vet said that'll help his healing too.

We both have a ton to do before we leave today and we both have to work until Noon. Then we have to pack everything for the trip and get the ducks situated for the long weekend (we don't take them down to Inwood :)!!!!) They do just fine by themselves with plenty of food and water (water shouldn't be a problem if he rains all weekend like they say it's going to). We'll be back on Monday night at around 6:30 to pick Jake up in Inwood and then it's back to the grind already on Tuesday. I have to continue my physical therapy next week too. My hip is feeling better...I just hope I can handle the 6 hour ride in the car! Time will tell I guess.
