It's Friday!!

Yippeee!!! It's Friday! I'm sure we aren't the only ones thinking Thank God It's Friday! We aren't quite sure where the week went but isn't that the way it always goes in the summer time!

We mowed the lawn last night for the first time in I don't know how long. It had been a LONG time! Even after the 2 inches of rain we got this past Monday/Tuesday the grass is still kinda brown in some spots. It's strange that even as dry as it is...the darn weeds are still bright green and growing like crazy! That's pretty much what we mowed last night...the weeds. The yard at least looks even again! Now we just need more rain to green it up somemore!

Sounds like our best shot at rain is tomorrow. Go figure that Jeff has a tractor pull in Alcester tomorrow! So it's a sure bet that it'll rain (but don't quote me on that). Last year in Alcester, Jeff got his two classes pulled and the skid broke. It broke so bad that they couldn't fix it there so they postponed the rest of the pull. They ended up canceling it all together because by the postponement date the skid was still broke!! We are hoping that that doesn't happen again this year! Jeff does really good at Alcester. The pull starts tomorrow at 4:30...hope to see some of you there!

Tonight we are going to Lennox for a thrashing bee type event. I guess they have little flea markets and tractor demonstrations. We are going to meet Lee and Judy there after we go out to eat at our usual Friday night spot. I only work until noon today (which is very nice on a Friday) and Jeff plans to maybe duck outta work a little early today too. I think Fridays are a good day to do that on, don't you :)!

Otherwise not too much is going on at the Blankespoor household this week. We can tell Jake is getting back to his normal self (for those of you who don't know at Jakes last vet visit he was diagnosed with hypothyroidism so he's on a daily pill for the rest of his life). We can tell he's feeling much better then he was before he was put on his pills. He is much more active and goofier then ever! He always wants to play and has even started rolling around in GROSS things again, which requires us to squirt him off with the hose. He doesn't mind the bath as long as the hose water is warm (from the hose sitting in the sun) but the instant that water starts to get cold he's outta there! He takes off running and only stops to shake off the water! We always talk about taking him to the lake to see if he'll swim...not sure if he would or not. He has to have surgery sometime in the next month or two also. Jake tore his doggy ACL so he has to have "knee surgery". It's a same day kinda thing but he'll have to be kinda mellow for 2 weeks and then after that 2 more weeks of light exercise. After that 4 weeks he should be as good as new. Oh the things we do for the animals in our lives :)! The ducks are good...Eating the grasshoppers and crickets all around the yard. They aren't too scared of us anymore unless we come at them too quick, then they run like crazy. Have you ever seen a duck run? It's very funny since they have no arms. They kinda waddle when they run!

Well that's it for now I guess. I'll post Jeff's results from the tractor pull tomorrow on Monday (probably). God's blessings to everyone! Have a wonderful weekend!
