Since the Tractor Pull got postponed on Saturday, Jeff and I got the boat out! That was the first time all summer that we have been out on the Lake. We decided to go to a lake that we knew wasn't going to be very busy...and it wasn't, we were the only ones out there (it wasn't a major lake in case some of you are wondering). We took some bait along and thought we would do some fishing while we were out there too. Needless to say that our lines were out in the water for 2 1/2 hours and we didn't even have a bite! Oh well that's the way fishing goes I guess. We think the fish will probably start biting more in September and October when the weather cools down. But still it was so much fun to be out on the lake. We both got sunburned (sunscreen is a good thing to have on a boat)! The boat ran good too, which is always a plus! We think we'll be getting the boat out quite a bit more once the tractor pulling season is over.
Our weekend was relaxing which is always a plus. Jeff mowed the lawn on Saturday after we got back from the lake. It needed it really bad and we had just mowed on Wednesday! That's what all that much needed rain did...it made the grass green and lush again...and now it grows like crazy!! Fine by us...we don't mind mowing when all the mowers are working (Jeff had to fix his nice rider mower Saturday before he mowed because it broke on Wednesday when he was mowing...he had to mow our ditches with the push mower...that was quite the site :)!) I lucked out and didn't have to mow but I did stay in the house and made homemade dinner rolls and I also made some Black Bottom Banana Bars. Good stuff! We ate rather well this weekend!
Now today it's back to the same old same old. We have a busy week ahead of us. Tomorrow night is the Blankespoor Picnic in Inwood...that should be lots of fun. And of course on Friday night we have the pull in Rock Valley and Saturday is the pull in Madison...Busy Busy Busy! Hope to see some of you at the pulls on Friday and Saturday! I know we'll see a bunch of you tomorrow night in Inwood. God's blessings to everyone! More to come!
